We’re closing out the Peoria Women’s Club Summer Film Noir Series with The Maltese Falcon (1941)—the film that launched the genre and remains one of Hollywood’s greatest detective thrillers. This series has been a special revival of the program first co-founded in the 1980s by longtime PWC member Maggie Nelson, with Steve Tarter helping shape its original success.

In this unforgettable finale, Humphrey Bogart stars as private eye Sam Spade, drawn into a dangerous chase for a jewel-encrusted statuette that pits him against femme fatales, schemers, and ruthless villains. Packed with twists, shadows, and intrigue, The Maltese Falcon is the perfect capstone to the summer as we head into the October 007 Ball of Peoria.

Please let us know if you will be joining us for LUNCH, or simply attending the film. Menu below.
