April Luncheon & Program with Woodruff Culinary Arts Program

Join us for our Third Annual Fundraiser to support the Woodruff Culinary Arts Program led by Chef (Jetty) Miedema and Chef Kevin Roecker. The money raised through this luncheon will be used to cover travel expenses of high school students participating in state and national culinary arts competitions. Woodruff students will be prepping, cooking, and serving all of the food and will present a portion of their 2024 competition presentation to those in attendance.

Woodruff Culinary Program Successes: For the last seven years, culinary students have won first prize in the Management Competition at the Illinois ProStart® Invitational, a competition put on by the Illinois Restaurant Association Educational Foundation. In 2023, Woodruff culinary students went on to compete in the National ProStart® Invitational in Washington, DC by the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation. On March 2, 2024, they took first place in the Illinois Management Competition for the 8th consecutive year.

Program Cost: $50 for individual, $400 for table of 8

Menu:

  • Entre Choice:

    • Meat: Sautéed boneless, skinless chicken breast accented with a fresh herb cream sauce

    • Vegan: Grilled portabella mushroom cap stuffed with fresh vegetables

  • Salad: A blend of tender baby lettuces and greens, tomatoes and cucumbers, with a choice of house-made ranch (vegetarian) or French (vegan) dressing. Butter/garlic/herb croutons served upon request.

  • Traditional Au Gratin Potatoes (vegetarian)

  • Baked Basmati Rice Pilaf (vegan)

  • Spring Vegetable Medley (vegan)

  • Dessert Choice:

    • Vegetarian: Vanilla Cheesecake with strawberry sauce

    • Vegan: Fresh fruit and berry mélange
